Creeley : Addition/Renovation Design




This small cottage presents many challenges. The client wants to maintain the charm of scale and detail while increasing functionality. The second floor of the house is very restricted in terms of access and headroom.It is located on an undersized lot that restricts the placement of any additions. It is also subject to design review by the Historic District Commission. The design is currently in Schematic Design and extensive building and zoning code review is being performed to determine the exact limitations on the proposed additions and renovations. Green building practices will be incorporated into the design in a variety of ways: including material selection, energy efficient wall systems, natural cooling systems and rainwater collection.
